Mocquerys; subspecies nigriventris (Santschi, 1919h: 87, worker) from Ivory Coast, collected at Dimbroko, by Le Moult; and rugaticeps (Santschi, 1919h: 87, worker) from Cameroun, collected at Molundu, by Reichensperger; worker and queen described (see Bolton, 1995) .

Wheeler (1922) also had findings from Ivory Coast (at Bassam). Santschi (1935) reported it from Zaïre, Luebo, 17.xii.1921, Dr Schouteden.
