worker; Menozzi, 1930b: 105, male); subspecies costeboriensis
from Ivory Coast (Region of San Pedro, by C. Phore, in
Santschi, 1919h: 86, worker), flavida (Mayr, 1907b: 15,
worker) from Tanzania, and mandonbii (Santschi,
1926b: 229, worker) from Uganda; unavailable names convexiclypea
by Forel (1916: 411, all forms) from Zaïre, flaviscapis
from Angola and gallarum from Congo
(Santschi, 1910c: 370, worker) and postriata (Santschi,
1921c: 118, worker) from Tanzania; all forms described
(see Bolton, 1995)

Bequaert (in Wheeler, 1922, p 407) cited convexiclypea as
collected by Father Kohl from in myrmecophilous plants. Possibly
primarily an inhabiter of Acacia galls. |
