Type locality Zaïre (Dorylus (Dorylus) affinis
var moestus, Emery, 1895j: 720, male; raised to species
but erroneously described by Santschi, 1910g: 741); subspecies
claripennis (Santschi, 1919c: 234, male; 1930b: 60,
worker) from Zaïre (Santschi, 1919c: 234, male) from
Congo, collected at Lower Kasai, by Vanderyst; and, schereri
(Forel, 1911e: 254, male) from Liberia, by Scherer; male
only known (see Bolton, 1995)
