Brown (1975: 81) described examining the unique worker type
specimen - HL 0.97 mm, HW 0.67 behind the eyes; Petiole disc very
slightly narrowed in front and margined both front and rear,
almost square. Head coarsely punctate, space between eyes and
frontal carinae finely longitudinally reticulo-striate, near
sericeous. Coarse punctures also on the shining, near smooth,
alitrunk dorsum. Petiole and postpetiole more densely and finely
punctate, gaster even more finely so but still shining. Pilosity
of reclining white pubescence. Colour black, clypeus and femora
brown, antennae, tibiae, tarsi and mandibles yellowish.
Later the same day, he saw a specimen from Yangambi (A Raignier
and J van Boven), taken with other specimens nesting in hollow
twigs in Zaïre. |
