Type location Zaïre (Tetramorium guineense F.
r. peutli n. stirps, Forel, 1916: 419, worker & queen)
collected at St. Gabriel, by H Kohl; worker and queen described
(see Bolton, 1995) .

WORKER
- TL 2.9-3.5 mm; distinguished by its reduced or absent
postpetiolar sculpture. All dorsal surfaces with numerous erect
strong hairs. Colour of head, alitrunk and pedicel bright orange
or orange-brown, gaster much darker, blackish-brown or black
(Bolton, 1980: 272, illustrated).
Bolton (1980) listed findings from Ivory Coast, at Banco
Forest (W.L. Brown) and Tai Forest (T. Diomande).
From Ghana, at Mt. Atewa (B. Bolton), Kukuruntami,
Sajimasi and Numia (D. Leston) (Bolton, 1980) Later described as
widespread in leaf litter (28 workers from 6 sites) by Belshaw &
Bolton (1994b).
Also from Gabon (Makokou, by I. Lieberburg), Zaïre
(Yangambi, by N.H.L. Krauss; and Epulu, by J.C. Bradley) and
Angola. |

south-western tropical coastal forest area between Edéa and
Campo (McKey Wolbachia project) - Cameroon 61 from
